Frontier Military Scenic Byway Structure

After the SPARKS FLY A/P news release by Pam Martin, Great Bend Tribune swept across the newspapers, the Kansas Scenic Byway Coordinator, Deborah Divine gave a call to commission a life size structure and entrance sign for one of the Kansas Byways. The state byway is the Frontier Military Scenic Byway south of Kansas City on highway 69.  The state is constructed a new safety rest area where a hand fabricated metal Dragoon Sculpture was installed in July of 2009. The dedication included a reinactment of the dragoon soldiers from  Fort Scott. The structure is 3" thick and 13 feet tall. The entrance sign is made from genuine kansas limestone decorated with metal raised letters and a smaller dragoon structure.
